in every circumstance

peace, patience, perspective in pain –
the understanding that where we are
is not where we’re going.
in every circumstance,
the recognition of
opportunities for growing.
energy and excellence,
being alright with not knowing.
a brilliant book, a cosy bed,
a cup of coffee full to overflowing.
a quiet word of encouragement,
hope and a face to call home;
cats and snacks, hardbacks, and
someone to write me a poem.
